I believe that the third industrial revolution is underpinned by digitalization in every aspect of our lives and will continue reshaping our world: habits, employment schemes, dwellings, and even our brains as many researches claim so. I have been serving for the digital advertising industry for the last 2 years. However it has been conflicting with my point of view in life: It does not improve life nor save the world. In fact, we would do better without it! The romantic activist approach is way too late to reset the system, but we would always be able to improve what we already have through design. “Design to improve life”, to me, is a more fundamental and macro-scaled type of activism, since it would have a direct positive effect on larger masses than activism. This is why I work as a Spotter for INDEX: Award 2015.
